Ghana Football Association Head of Public Relations and Strategy Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe has stressed the need for stronger health and nutrition systems to support Ghanaâs quest to develop world-class athletes.Addressing the Volta Sports Development Forum, he linked productivity and elite sports performance directly to the quality of nourishment and wellness available to young people.âA 24-hour economy requires a 24-hour workforce; strong, healthy, productive, and mentally sharp,â the former Hearts of Oak Managing Director said. âThis means we must take seriously the quality of food our people consume, the preventive health systems we build, and the way we educate our communities about wellness.âHe highlighted the Volta Regionâs rich agricultural capacity as a major opportunity for sport-nutrition advancement.âImagine branded Volta organic foods feeding athletes across Ghana and beyond,â he said. âThis is not a fantasy. It is an opportunity.âArmstrong-Mortagbe urged stakeholders to view health and nutrition not only as welfare needs but as economic levers capable of boosting national competitiveness in global sports.
